A hot air balloon safari or classic aviation flight is an early morning (sunrise) excursion which has seen its’ popularity succeed through the number of commercial balloon operators available in many provinces across South Africa.

Reasons for the flight taking place so early (at sunrise) is that this is the perfect climatic conditions in which to fly, wind is predominantly the major threat to a hot air balloon being postponed or cancelled and at sunrise the wind is generally non existant.

Our operators call you the night prior to your flight to confirm that the flight will be taking place and answer any last minute questions before your departure to the take off site the following morning. It is advisable to perhaps overnight at one of the options of accommodation close to the launch site should you be travelling from afar.
