Welcome to Everglades Country Hotel – set at the base of the Inhlosane Mountain with it’s indigenous forests and mountain streams. In the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg. We are located on the western tip of the Midlands Meander, just a short drive from arts, crafts and eating places.
Everglades Hotel was established as a Farm in this beautiful, historic Dargle Valley in 1938 and has grown into the 54 room Country Hotel it is today. Our accommodation is well appointed country comfort enjoying a rural farm setting.
Our 57 ha Estate offers something for everyone whether it is a slow morning stroll or more strenuous hike up the mountain. With more than 360 species of birds listed this is a birders paradise. Included in our illustrious listing are the Cape Parrot and the Blue Swallow.
Set in this idyllic country backdrop we offer three Conference Venues and a beautiful Wedding Venue surrounded by park like gardens and indigenous forests.

Apart from the facilities that we offer on site, Everglades is situated on the world-renowned Midlands Meander which has numerous arts & crafts places of interest to visit ranging from lavender farms, potteries and wrought-iron works to breweries and cheese manufacturers.

Children are catered for with animal farms, candle-dipping and chocolate-dipping amongst other attractions. We assure you that your days in our beautiful valley will be memorable.

The Venue

This fabulous conference venue sits in the heart of the countryside. Breakout of city life and drink in the real country atmosphere with the morning backdrop of the African dawn chorus. The sounds are magnificent. So is the sight of the Protea growing naturally in and around the hotel grounds.

The Everglades hotel is 5 and half hours drive South of Johannesburg and 90 minutes drive North West of Durban. Pietermaritzberg is 40 minutes away.

After your days outing return to the Everglades for a pre-dinner drink in the Wattle & Daub Pub before a hearty meal served either plated or buffet-style depending on numbers of guests. For those bracing winter evenings we recommend a post-dinner liqueur whilst relaxing in the lounge or pub in front of the fire.
